Designer/lecturer by day, and bedroom party fiend by night, A/K/A SOUNDS (Amanda Keisha Ang)’s early foray into music was through the influence of her father, who bought her very first guitar and provided a constant appetite of sounds from his immense vinyl collection, art movies and books. This naturally led to her love for Punk and Dub music, and her versatility as a selector shines through her DJ sets, which can move anywhere between House and Hip-Hop to Footwork and Jungle.

Citing Chicago, New York and London as his influences in sound, Anwar’s DJ sets combine the raw, groove-heavy and atmospheric elements of house music. Whether in the booth of a bar or in front of a dancefloor, his sound often hits a sweet spot between soulful and playful vibes.

Having been a DJ the past 4 years, staying true to his love of house has resulted in invitations to play at venues such as Offtrack, Rumours Beach Club, Panamericana and Etta, as well as contribute online mixes for Singapore Community Radio, kelektiv, The Analog Vault, Sivilian Affairs and House Cartel Jakarta.

Today, his attentions are devoted to evolving his sound and making waves as a new contributor to Singapore’s house music scene.
